Pricing decisions should not require a separate spreadsheet

When costs change, users need to understand whether the current Sale Price still supports the desired margin. Rebuilding formulas outside the costing record adds friction and increases the chance of inconsistent results.

Slow Price Testing

Every new Sale Price requires manual calculations.

Unclear Margin Response

It may not be obvious how a price affects Gross Margin or Markup.

Disconnected Product Data

Cost and pricing may be evaluated in separate files.

Accidental Price Changes

Users may want to explore a value before deciding whether to save it.

Live pricing feedback inside the Product workflow

The Dynamic Pricing Widget uses the current Product Cost and lets users test a Sale Price while seeing profitability metrics update immediately. Users can review Product Cost, Sale Price, Gross Profit, Gross Margin, Markup, Cost %, Target Gross Margin, and Recommended Price.

The widget provides immediate feedback. It should not save or publish a new Sale Price until the user intentionally confirms the change.

Markup

Recommended Price

Calculated from the selected pricing target or strategy

Results depend on the accuracy and completeness of the Product Cost. Do not confuse Gross Margin with Markup.
