Receive Purchase Orders with actual quantities, costs, and lots

What you ordered isn't always what arrives

Receiving is where reality meets the order. Without recording actual quantities, lots, and costs, inventory drifts, shortages are missed, and there's no reliable record of what was received.

Ordered vs Actual Unknown

What actually arrived may differ from what was ordered.

No Lot Record

Lot numbers and expiration dates may be kept outside the system.

Inventory Out of Sync

Received goods may not increase inventory promptly.

No Receipt History

Who received what, and when, can be hard to reconstruct.

Receive against orders and keep inventory current

Ordered Purchase Orders appear on a Receiving calendar by expected date. Open an order, record the actual quantity and cost that arrived, capture lots and short-shipment dispositions, and post received Materials to inventory with weighted-average cost valuation.

The actual received cost is reflected in inventory valuation. Receiving does not update the master Material or Packaging purchase price.
